Holland Sentinel

Holland Sentinel was originally an afternoon paper published six days a week. The Sentinel then moved to Saturday mornings and then added a Sunday edition in the late 1980s. In the late 1990s, the paper adopted a morning format for all seven days. Before adopting the name The Holland Sentinel, it was called The Holland Evening Sentinel back in 1928 until 1977 when it was owned by Morris Communications. In 2007, the Sentinel was sold to GateHouse Media. In the mid 1980s, the Sentinel was a satellite publishing site for the Chicago Tribune. In the early 2000s, printing operations were moved to the Allegan, Michigan, facilities of The Flashes, a weekly advertising only newspaper that Morris Communications had purchased a few years prior. The Sentinel is currently published by Peter Esser and edited by Ben Beversluis. Its readership on weekdays is 15,881, 14,787 on Saturdays, and 17,498 on Sundays.

Lansing State Journal

The Lansing State Journal is a daily newspaper published in Lansing, Michigan owned by Gannett. The Lansing State Journal is the sole daily newspaper published in metropolitan Lansing. The newspaper had an average Monday through Friday readership of 41,330, a Saturday readership of 43,885, and a Sunday Readership of 65,904 from October 2011 to March 2012. It had an average Monday through Saturday readership of 47,716, and a Sunday readership of 66,518 from November 2010 to April 2011. The paper was started as the Lansing Republican on April 28, 1855, to advance the causes of the newly founded Republican Party in Michigan. Over the next 50 years, the paper saw many name changes and many different owners, finally merging with the rival Lansing Journal forming The State Journal in January 1911. The paper became the Lansing State Journal on August 25, 1980. On April 15, 1985, and it became a morning publication, rather than an afternoon one.

Livingston County Daily Press & Argus

The Livingston County Daily Press and Argus began back to 1843. It was the county's first newspaper until George W. Lee, a Howell resident, launched the Livingston Republican in 1855. In 1857 the Courier folded, was purchased by a Democrat and renamed the Livingston Democrat. That paper closed in 1890. It was then bought by a group of Democrats, who managed it until 1928. A year later, the Democrat and Republican combined to become the Livingston County Republican Press. In 1937 the paper abbreviated its name to the Livingston County Press. The state designated the paper in 1993 a registered historic site. On September 7, 2000, two weekly newspapers, The Brighton Argus and Livingston County Press, merged and became what is currently known as the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus.

Macomb Daily

The Macomb Daily is a daily newspaper serving Mount Clemens, Michigan. It is the only daily newspaper distributed in Macomb County, Michigan, making the county the largest in Michigan in terms of population with only one daily newspaper. The paper is owned by the Journal Register Company. The Macomb Daily was formed by the merger of The Mt. Clemens Monitor Leader, The South Macomb News and The Tri-City Progress in the early 1970's. The Macomb Daily was one of the first daily newspapers to automate its circulation onto computers and has a substantial fleet of twenty delivery vans that date back to 1977 with the Ford Macomb Daily Blue with White strips.
