The Gazette is a newspaper based in Colorado, United States. It is published daily by Irvine, California-based Freedom. It is the second largest daily newspaper in the chain and has the second largest circulation in Colorado, behind the Denver. In 1946, the Colorado Springs Gazette and the Colorado Springs Evening Telegraph merged to form the Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph. The same year, it was purchased by R.C. Hoiles's. Freedom Newspapers. The paper was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1990 for feature writing. Its name was changed to The Gazette in 1997. Carmen Boles is the current editor of The Gazette. The headquarters are located in Colorado Springs, CO. As of 2012, the Gazette is circulating 96,127 daily and 108, 637 on Sundays.

The Denver Post is a daily newspaper published in Denver, Colorado. The Post is the flagship newspaper of MediaNews Group Inc. As the main newspaper in Denver, the Post ranks 12th daily and 10th Sunday as one of the largest dailies in the United States with a daily circulation of 401,120 and a Sunday circulation of 595,363. In August 1892, The Denver Post was founded as the Evening Post. The Evening Post was established by supporters of Grover Cleveland. The paper was a Democratic paper used to promote political beliefs and stem the number of Colorado Democrats leaving the party. The Denver Post has won eight Pulitzer Prizes for editorial cartoons, photography, public service, breaking news coverage, and feature photography. The Post has also received various local, national, and international awards for the excellent news coverage that is provided.
Fort Collins Coloradoan
The daily newspaper in Fort Collins, Colorado is the Fort Collins Coloradoan. The Fort Collins Coloradoan was founded by Joseph L. McClelland in 1873 as Larimer County Express. Fort Collins Newspapers Inc. was established in 1937 when Speidel Newspapers acquired the publication known as The Express-Courier. In 1974, the Coloradoan eventually moved from its Old Town Fort Collins location to 1212 Riverside Ave. on the city's east side. Gannett acquired the newspaper when it merged with Speidel in 1977. Gannett began construction on a new $6 million facility in 2004 on property adjacent to their Riverside site. In June 2005, advertising, circulation, human resources, news and technology staffs moved into the brand new location. The 30-year old printing press remains at 1212 Riverside Ave. The new facility includes the Northern Colorado Bureau for KUSA-TV (9NEWS) who is also owned by Gannett. Reporter Adam Chodak and photojournalist Gary Wolfe occasionally report from the building.
